Halberstadt is located in the German federal state of Saxony-Anhalt on the northern edge of the Harz mountains. The town has some 40,000 inhabitants and two tram lines, with a together legth of almost 12 kilometres. Although the tram is constantly threatened due to financial difficulties of the city, the small tram network impresses very well-kept.
